Your body is not a problem to solve.
BODY IMAGE & HAES-ALIGNED THERAPY. Waltham, MA
Body-inclusive, anti-diet therapy for people ready to question harmful expectations, build self-trust, and make peace with taking up space.
What if your body didn't need to be your next project?
Maybe you've spent years trying to eat the right things, wear the right clothes, take up less space, or feel comfortable in a body the world keeps telling you to change.
Therapy can be a place to unpack those messages, explore your relationship with your body, and reconnect with what matters beyond appearance.
You don't have to love your body every day to treat yourself with respect.
You might be in the right place if…
You feel guilty after eating certain foods
Other people's body comments stay with you
You avoid photos, events, or clothing you love
Your self-worth feels tied to your appearance
You're exhausted by diet and wellness rules
You want to trust yourself around food and movement
WHAT HAES-ALIGNED THERAPY MEANS
Health at Every Size (HAES) is a weight-inclusive framework that challenges weight stigma and the assumption that body size alone determines health or worth. It supports respectful, individualized care without making weight loss the goal of therapy.
You are more than your relationship with your body. Together, we can explore body image, internalized weight stigma, food-related guilt, self-criticism, boundaries, and the expectations you've learned about how your body should look or function. We'll work toward greater self-compassion, flexibility, body respect, and the freedom to make choices guided by your needs and values rather than shame.
You don't have to love your body to live in it.
Body positivity can feel like another expectation to meet. Body neutrality offers room for days when loving your appearance feels unrealistic. We can focus on respect, comfort, access, and what your body allows you to experience—without requiring gratitude or positivity every day. Your body doesn't have to be your favorite thing about yourself.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A different kind of conversation about bodies.
Start with your experiences - Explore your relationship with your body and what you'd like to change.
Unpack the messages - Look at diet culture, stigma, family beliefs, and social expectations.
Practice body respect - Build boundaries, self-compassion, and ways to respond to difficult thoughts.
Make room for your life - Reconnect with relationships, activities, and values beyond appearance.
Questions you might be wondering about...
-
Health at Every Size (HAES) is a weight-inclusive approach that challenges the idea that someone's health, worth, or well-being can be determined by their body size.
In therapy, that means we don't automatically treat your weight as a problem that needs to be fixed. Instead, we explore your mental health, relationship with your body, experiences of stigma, and the social pressures that may be affecting how you feel about yourself.
You deserve respectful, compassionate care at every size.
-
Absolutely not! Sometimes the pressure to love your body can feel just as exhausting as the pressure to change it.
Body neutrality offers another possibility. Instead of forcing yourself to feel positive about your appearance every day, we can work toward treating your body with respect, responding to it with compassion, and allowing your appearance to take up less mental space.
Some days you might love your body. Other days you might feel disconnected from it. Both experiences are allowed.
You don't have to love every part of yourself to deserve kindness and care.
-
es! Caring about your health and rejecting diet culture aren't mutually exclusive.
A HAES-aligned approach recognizes that health is complex and influenced by many factors, including genetics, access to healthcare, stress, social circumstances, and individual needs.
We can explore ways to support your physical and mental well-being without making weight loss the measure of success. Your health goals are yours to define, and therapy can help you approach them with greater self-trust, flexibility, and compassion.
Your health matters. So does your relationship with yourself.

Then you're welcome here. You don't have to have a perfectly peaceful relationship with food or your body before starting therapy.
Diet culture is everywhere, and unlearning those messages takes time. It's normal to recognize that certain beliefs aren't helping you while still finding them difficult to let go of.
Together, we can explore food-related guilt, body comparisons, internalized weight stigma, and the expectations you've learned about eating, movement, and appearance.
You don't have to be perfectly anti-diet to deserve body-inclusive support.
